We want to welcome our new student intern Ross Cooper! Ross is an undergraduate student with a major of Water: Resources, Policy, and Management and a minor in Environmental Economics. During his internship, Ross plans to investigate the relationships between TMDL status, pollutants, cause of impairment, and income values in jurisdictions within the state of Virginia.
Growing up in Alexandria, Virginia, Ross lacked a connection to the environment until taking AP Environmental Science, his senior year of high school, when he realized his passion for water resources. Ross has experience working at a wastewater treatment plant both in process optimization and policy compliance. His specific research interests include the impacts of land use and wastewater treatment on water quality and nutrient dynamics. Outside of the classroom, as a fervent vegan, Ross enjoys cooking and gardening.
