Welcome to Nizhoni Tallas, our Water Center Intern! Nizhoni is a proud member of the Diné tribe and is currently a Junior studying Natural Resources and Conservation and minoring in American Indian Studies. She plans to attend graduate school to focus on Indigenous Natural Resources and climate adaptation. Nizhoni is also a member of the American Indian Science Engineering Society and the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science. One of her main goals for the internship is to bring awareness to the importance of water issues within Virginia Tribal communities. She is looking forward to the numerous connections and experience she will gain from interning with the Virginia Water Resource Research Center.
