The Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) has named Dr. Jonathan Czuba as an Honorable Mention in the UCOWR 2022 Early Career Award in Applied Research for 2022!
Dr. Czuba is an Assistant Professor of Watershed Engineering in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering (BSE) and is affiliated with the Global Change Center at Virginia Tech.
From Dr Czuba’s research website: “My research program extends collaboratively across multiple disciplines to advance the understanding of riverine ecosystems and their response to human and natural forces. The challenge to provide water, food, and energy for a growing population in the context of climate change is and will continue to place increasing pressure on riverine ecosystems. I incorporate theory, modeling, and field measurements to improve our understanding of these complex systems and better inform river management.”
UCOWR was founded in 1964 and is a consortium of academic institutions and affiliates invested in water resources research, education, and outreach. Institutional members and delegates are leaders in water resources related research and education and represent various fields of natural and social science. UCOWR publishes the Journal of Contemporary Water Research & Education. Virginia Tech is a UCOWR member institution.
