September 24, 2024 — Theme: Exploring Emerging Water Issues
The 2024 VWMC Conference will be held at the Virginia Public Safety Training Facility (Knox Hall) in Hanover, Va. The conference runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program includes eight invited presentations on water monitoring and management. Speakers will highlight accomplishments by a local stream monitoring program in Loudoun County and government and citizen efforts to manage harmful algal blooms in Virginia’s lakes. Presentations will also focus on water quality issues pertaining to microplastics and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Adaptations resulting from coastal flooding and cost-share programs supporting agricultural best management practices (BMPs) will also be discussed. Learn more here. Register here.
