Affiliates

Researchers, faculty, and agency scientists are affiliated with the Water Center through service on committees, participation in research projects, and receipt of competitive grants. In accordance with the Water Resources Research Act, the Water Center engages a statewide network of researchers from Virginia’s colleges and universities, as well as scientists and technical specialists from state and federal agencies. These affiliates lead grant-funded projects, collaborate across disciplines, and participate actively in the Center’s Academic Research Group, which is a partnership with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. 

Affiliates contribute expertise spanning water quality, freshwater ecology, environmental engineering, applied economics, and agency-based monitoring—collectively extending the Center’s capacity to support research and engagement across every major watershed in the Commonwealth.
